ABOUT BHUREN

Since his arrival in the Boston area at 17 years old, Bhuren Patel has made major contributions to his community. Bhuren, a first generation immigrant, graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1990 and has been a licensed pharmacist for 30 years. In addition, he has independently owned a pharmacy for the past 25 years and has served as president of Pelmeds since 2007.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Bhuren worked tirelessly to serve the community by vaccinating thousands of seniors and individuals with severe disabilities throughout the state. Locally, Pelmeds was also responsible for vaccinating over 85% of students in the Needham Public Schools system and a large portion of the senior community.

Bhuren has resided in Needham for the past 20 years with three kids, 2 of whom are currently attending the Needham Public Schools with a 3rd in college.

Outside of his pharmaceutical endeavors, Bhuren enjoys spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, reading, and traveling to new places. Bhuren is honored to be in the running to represent a community that welcomed him with open arms all those years ago and is grateful for the immense support they have shown him since.

Additionally, if elected, Bhuren will donate his entire base salary to charity. This demonstrates his commitment to the cause and his desire to effect real change at the state level. He is excited to accept the challenge.
